Girls’ Getaway Weekend 2010

Laughter, hugs and toasts to friendships new and old made the 5th Annual Girls’ Getaway Weekend a celebration to remember! The much-anticipated "Writers In The Round" delighted early arrivals as Tiffany Goss, Brandy Clark and Denise Locke (plus a few surprise guests!) started the weekend off on a high note. Mixed-media artist, Alexa Lett, encouraged art class attendees to forget perfection and just have FUN getting in touch with their creative side. Edie Sutter helped the process by making sure the ladies had plenty of tasty treats to keep those creative juices flowing! Celebrated chef and cookbook author, Virginia Willis, entertained and educated at the "Bon Appétit, Ya’ll" cooking demonstration. While guests dined on her amazing French toast casserole, cheese grits and Grand Marnier-soaked fruit, guest author Lisa Patton read from her new book "Whistlin’ Dixie in a Nor’easter". A lively concert with chart-topping songwriters Jessi Alexander, Natalie Hemby and Melissa Peirce put the cherry on top of an amazing weekend! In addition to 163 bags of groceries, this successful fundraiser allowed the Rosemary Beach Foundation to donate $15,675 to Caring & Sharing’s food bank.
